About Footstock

Once upon a time, there was a little community race called The Cochrane Challenge. In 1999, Footstock was born of the joining of The Cochrane Challenge and Cochrane’s Kids of Steel Triathlon. Organized by a group of local race directors, supported by countless volunteers and enjoyed by thousands of young triathletes and runners of all ages. Over the years, Footstock has donated over $80 000 to local charities.

Race Directors:

We are a team of 10 race directors who share a common passion for organizing and executing the Premier running race and kids triathlon event right here in Cochrane. We love our town, and couldn’t be happier than to give back by hosting this fantastic event known simply as Footstock!

Maxime Beaudry

Maxime is a teacher at the francophone school in Cochrane. She is a proud Franco-Albertan who fell in love with the town of Cochrane in the summer of 2018. During the weekends, Maxime loves to spend time in the mountains; hiking, climbing, backpacking, snowshoeing and skiing. She has been a race director for a couple of years and immediately realized that Footstock is an amazing local event organized by amazing people.

Katherine Cox

Kat is a mountain loving mama to 2 little boys. Her favourite things include Tim Hortons steeped tea, her cottage, and spending time in nature with family and friends. Kat started with Footstock as a race day volunteer and was quickly recruited to the board of directors. She’s passionate about finding new sponsors and making Footstock exquisite!

Mike Fox

Mike is passionate about active living, and giving back to the race / event community.  When Mike has downtime, you can find him out on a hike with family, or riding his bike down the pathways and gravel roads around Cochrane.

Chuck McKibbon

Chuck moved to Cochrane with his family from the East coast in 2019. Having lived in Cochrane with his wife Sarah before, they knew it was the perfect town to raise their three daughters. Chuck has enjoyed participating in triathlons for many years and hopes his children will have a similar passion for the sport. Chuck volunteered with Footstock in 2022 and is looking forward to another fun filled event in 2023.

Meredith McMorran

Meredith first got involved with Footstock as a kids’ triathlon transition volunteer (the best Footstock job, btw!) in the 1990s and has been hooked ever since. She has participated in Footstock herself and is especially proud of the special role Footstock has come to play in supporting and building community in Cochrane.

don Miller

Don is a long-time resident of Cochrane. He and his wife Lise have volunteered for Footstock for many years and especially enjoyed watching their children participate in our Kids' triathlon. Several years ago, Footstock recognized Don as "Volunteer of the Year" and that was all it took for him to make the leap and join the Race Director team.

Kelsey Norman

Kelsey has volunteered for Footstock for many years and recently joined our board team. She grew up in Cochrane and loves to spend time outdoors with her family. Kelsey is always up for new adventures, travels and getting to know new people.

Kim Roe

Kim has lived in Cochrane since 2000, been a volunteer with Footstock for a number of years and is a proud new member of this amazing Footstock team. She believes Footstock is a fantastic opportunity for participants, volunteers and spectators. Come join in the fun, she looks forward to seeing you!!

Jennifer Wilkinson

Jennifer is a mother to twins and loves spending time outdoors with her family. She participated in Footstock when she was younger and eventually became a volunteer at this wonderful event. Jennifer met her husband Kenton at Footstock many, many years ago and joined the board shortly thereafter.

Kenton Wilkinson

Kenton found the love for triathlon and racing at a young age; he was a Footstock participant for many years until he started volunteering with his dad which quickly turned into being a board member. Kenton loves being active and spending time with his family outdoors. He looks forward to the day when his kids can participate in Footstock.
